Year 4

Welcome to Year 4!

Welcome to the Year 4 page. Please take the time to have a look at what we have been doing so far in Year 4 and also what we will be doing as the year progresses. 

 

Our Teaching Team consists of Mr Creighton, Miss Steeper, Mr Mather, Miss Grimble and Mrs Hodson-Smith.

 

Important information

  • Year 4 P.E is on a Wednesday.
  • Year 4 Swimming is on Friday afternoons.
  • Homework is given out on a Friday and due to be returned on the following Thursday.

 

We will be updating this page regularly, so keep your eyes peeled for all the exciting learning we will be sharing with you.

Taiko Drumming

On Wednesday 7th June, Year 4 participated in a Taiko drumming session. Taiko drums are Japanese percussion instruments. 'I loved playing the drums because it made an awesome beat and it was very fun.' - Fay Bennett 4LB. Have a look at the pictures above to see how they got on!

Magna Trip

 

We had a magna-ificent trip to Magna today! We participated in a volcano workshop and investigated the four pavilions: earth, fire, air and water.

We enjoyed raising money for Children In Need and learning new dance routines!

 

 

Exit Point: Temples, Tombs and Treasures

 

Year 4 had a splendid afternoon inviting parents into our classrooms. We were able to show off our fabulous pyramid models, show parents our writing about Ancient Egypt and also create Egyptian headdresses - some of them even turned out to be 3D!

Cross Country

 

We very much enjoyed Cross Country and the opportunity to compete against other local schools. We showed great team spirit: supporting and cheering each other on. Old Clee Girls came second out of the five schools; Old Clee boys came first. Well done everyone!

We were very excited about mummifying the fish!

What a mummifying time we had in Year 4 for our Entry Point to our new IPC Topic 'Temples, Tombs and Treasures'. We mummified class mates and embalmed fish!

Year 4 Sports Hall Athletics

Year 4 have loved learning about the human body as part of their topic. Here is just a sample of their amazing homework... The creativity of our parents amazed us!
