In Nursery we have had a huge focus on our motor movements. We spoke about keeping our bodies healthy, by doing exercise and building up our muscles, which will help us in all aspects of our development as we grow.

We started the morning with learning the squiggle whilst we wiggle dance, using large arm movements and "flappers" to create shapes in the air. We then practised going down on our knees and making these movements on the floor. We will move onto making these large movements on paper with crayons next week.

After this we then took our "flappers" outside, to practice the movements again, using even bigger movements as we had much more room.

We then practised our skipping, something we have been working on in nursery this week, and using our ribbons at the same time.

After, we spoke about our smaller motor movements which we can practice, especially in our fingers, which will eventually help us to write as we get older. We each had a peg, and practised opening and closing the peg in alternate hands. We then had to try and pass a paper plate around the circle without dropping it. The children tried really hard, and we then added some cups in to make it trickier for some of the children.
