Mental Health Awareness Week 2021
Mental Health Awareness Week takes place from the 10thtMay, and provides a great opportunity for schools to normalise the discussion of mental health and wellbeing amongst pupils and staff.
The theme for this year’s awareness week is ‘nature’. Recent National Trust research found a link between feeling connected to nature and having improved wellbeing.
In school we will be discussing mental health and encouraging our children to be aware of and how to look after their own mental health and well being. Look out for work, pictures, videos of your children taking part in this.
Mental Health week at home
During the pandemic, nature has played a critical role in making many of us feel more positive. So this week, why don't you take advantage of the warmer weather to appreciate nature.
Here are some activities you can do with all of the family even if you haven't got an outside space:
*Go for a park, woodland or seaside walk.
*Use your senses; go outside and close your eyes; what do you smell, hear and feel?
*Make a list of all of the things you can see have changed over the past few Spring weeks.
