100 Million Minute Reading Challenge

100 Million Minutes Reading Challenge

In addition to our performance poetry competition, we are also supporting the 100 million minutes reading challenge. As an incentive to encourage children across the country to engage in reading, we have signed up for the challenge where we will compete with other Primary Schools across the country.

Research shows that just ten minutes of reading a day makes a huge difference to a child's progress. The challenge is for children to read at least ten minutes a day at home from Thursday 1st March - Friday 9th March and log their minutes on the book mark which will be provided. Each day the school’s reading minutes will be added together and uploaded onto the reading leader board. We will keep you updated of our position and where we sit alongside the other Primary Schools from across the country.

All reading counts towards our school's minutes. Children can read anything from books and magazines to comics, e-books and newspapers. We want to make every child feel special for undertaking this challenge and will award certificates at the end of the week.

Thank you for your continued support by reading with your child at home and building the school's reading minutes.
