    School Ambassadors 2026/27

Each term, two SUPERB ambassadors are chosen from each class to assist at lunchtimes. Each ambassador is given training on how to become a SUPERB ambassador.

Being a SUPERB ambassador allows the children to play an active role in supporting their peers to solve problems, prevent loneliness, encourage positive friendships and raise awareness of any issues on the playground. They also offer a person who is always willing to listen if another child needs somebody to talk to.

As an academy, we focus heavily on being a SUPERB citizen within the classroom, and having SUPERB ambassadors allows us to continue this focus on the playground.

    Playground Ambassadors

    Autumn Term

We would like to thank all of the children that did a great job supporting their peers in their playground ambassador role last term.

    Reading Ambassadors

Our Reading Ambassadors are at the centre of everything we do for Reading and are always on hand to promote a love of reading across the school. As avid, passionate readers themselves, they encourage others to read for pleasure and engage with books in meaningful ways. Their greatest and most impacting achievement to date is the introduction of reading huts on each of the KS1 and KS2 playgrounds. Not only this, they contribute to the whole school Reading for Pleasure ethos, meeting on a regular basis with the Reading Team to help to shape decisions made to best suit the children at Old Clee. They recommend books to their peers, share their own personal reading experiences, support the running of reading challenges, demonstrate enthusiasm for reading, encourage reluctant readers, create a positive reading culture and generally enhance the school’s reading for pleasure ethos. Having achieved the Silver Lincolnshire Reading Pledge, we are now striving to achieve Gold with the support of our ambassadors.

    Librarians

Our School Librarians are responsible for managing and developing the school library to create a welcoming, engaging and stimulating environment that promotes a love of reading and supports children’s learning. The role involves organising and maintaining library resources, supporting pupils in selecting books appropriate to their interests and reading abilities, and supporting the Reading Ambassadors in encouraging Reading for Pleasure across the school. The School Librarians work closely with the Reading Team to foster a positive reading culture. Responsibilities also include managing book loans and returns, maintaining an organised and accessible library, promoting new and recommended books to inspire and engage pupils. Through this role, the School Librarians help to develop confident, enthusiastic readers and ensure that all children have opportunities to access and enjoy a wide range of literature.
