In Geography...

In Geography, we have been learning to use an atlas and learning about continents, countries and trade. We identified where different food came from and where these were on the world map. We then played a 'trade' game where we understood key language linked to trade such as 'import' and 'export'. We then identified key trade routes on the map and labelled our own maps with this knowledge.

VE Day Celebrations!

In Year 2 we had lots of fun on VE Day! We created a collage of VE Day flags using the colours of the Great British flag, designed our own commemorative plate, we practised dancing and singing 1940s songs and dances, we created our own flags for the parade celebration in the afternoon and we also enjoyed playing lots of 1940s traditional games! In the afternoon, we came together with the whole school to share our learning, sing songs and celebrate as they would have done at the end of the war!
