    Year Two Summer Newsletter

    Daily Routines 

    Please ensure that your child brings the following to school daily:

    • Yellow home (school) contact book
    • Reading book
    • Reading record
    • Library book
    • Waterproof coat/jacket
    • Water bottle

    It is very important that your child remembers to bring their yellow book to school everyday. This is used to communicate messages between school and home. Please ensure if there are any changes in your child's home time arrangements you write this in. Test scores will also be added to the book weekly.

    PE Days 

    2JM have their PE day on a Monday.

    2SM will have their PE day on a Friday

    2SV will have their PE day on a Thursday. 

    Please ensure your child comes to school on this day dressed in PE kit and that it is inline with the school uniform policy. Please also remember to remove any jewellery. 

    Homework

    Each Thursday the children will be given their homework which will be assessed the following Thursday. Year Two homework will focus on reading, spellings/phonics and maths. The homework is as follows:

    • Spelling/handwriting practice
    • Look, cover, write and check spelling sheet
    • Learning the fortnightly maths KIRFS (key instant recall)
    • Practising timetables on TTRockstars at least once per week
    • Reading reading books as frequently as possible
