Parent Coffee Afternoon 2018/19
If you would like to become more involved in your child's school experiences or if you  would like to support our children within the academy with their learning, please join    Miss Hazlewood on a Thursday afternoons from 2.30pm till 3.15 pm to discuss how you could be part of this.

'Clever Me'

Starting on Monday 4th March 2019 will be starting a new course for our parents with Community learning.

This course is a free 6 week course about how to help your child with their learning and development through everyday activities. 

There are no requirements other than being a parent/carer to take part. 

'Clever Me' is an accredited course so you will receive an entry level 3 certificate on completion which will enable you to progress onto other childcare qualifications for teaching assistants and nursery nurses  if you wanted to.

This course will run from 1.30pm till 3pm every Monday for 6 weeks. If you are interested in enrolling in this please call the school office or pop in to put your name down. If you would like more information please ask to speak with Miss Hazlewood.

4 Week Cooking Course
From Monday 21st January, the school will be offering a 4 week cookery course covering healthy eating, cooking on a budget and a range of food tips.
This will take place from 1.00 – 3.00pm.
If you think this is something that you would like to participate in, please enquire at the school office.

As part of our Parents in Partnership in 2018 /19 at Old Clee we will be offering ICT workshops, free of charge to all of our parents. These workshops will take place on a Monday afternoons, 2pm till 3pm and will start on Monday 17th of September 2018. Here is a brief overview of what will be available:


Week 1 Internet - The fundamentals of using the internet and understand how to stay safe online.


Week 2 Email - Use email to communicate effectively, forwarding and adding attachment.  Manage emails for productivity using folders.


Week 3  Tablet devices - An overview and ‘how to’ to help you become more confident with tablet devices.


Week 4 Employability - Update your CV or create a new one.  


Week 5  Microsoft Word - Learn how to create a basic document including formatting to alter its appearance.


Week 6 Microsoft Word continued - Gain knowledge and skills to create meaningful documents using a range of techniques.


Week 7 Microsoft Excel - Learn how excel works and create a basic spreadsheet that includes the production of a chart.


Week 8  Microsoft Excel continued - Understand and use simple formulae to give a spreadsheet more meaning.  


Week 9  Microsoft PowerPoint - Construct a presentation using own creativity.  


Week 10 Digital platforms - A look at free online creativity tools to enhance images.  In this session, we will also be looking at free alternatives to paid software.


If you would like to take part in this '10 week free training programme' please pop into school to put your name down on the list or call the office on 01472 691887. This will ensure that we have enough laptops available to accommodate all of our learners. You will be most welcome!




In the Summer Term our Parents in Partnership (PIP) meetings took place every Monday and Wednesday in school with Miss Hazlewood. Parent's worked hard to create maths resources for all of our children in school to support them during their lessons.


Our Parents in Partnership group also had the opportunity to choose a number of free taster sessions for our parents to take part in within our school.
