ESFA TROPHY

Y 5/6 Boys took to Wintringham Academy to compete in the ESFA Cup. The boys team put together some strong performances and found their feet early in the competition. The leadership role fell on the shoulders of Robbie who captained the side with true professionalism. Harry contributed with some great goals, helping the team in winning 5 games with 1 draw, this found Old Clee making the final against the strong opposition of Signhills. Unfortunately Old Clee lost in extra time to 1 goal and can hold themselves with their heads held high. The fabulous efforts of the team have been rewarded with qualification for the Ramsden cup which will take part in 2024.

Y 5/6 Girls also headed to Wintringham Academy to compete in the ESFA Cup. The girls team headed to the event full of confidence and excitement with recent changes in the timetable providing them more time to practice skills along with the extremely successful LETGIRLSPLAYDAY campaign and the wonderful England Womens Team reaching the world cup final, inspiring so many. Some familiar faces involved in the lineup with the ever-resilient Poppy defending from the back and our midfield maestros Cora and Macie-Mai. Old Clee found themselves up against some strong opposition, particularly the likes of Wybers Woods. The attitude of the team and the manner in which they worked hard for one another would have made any P.E Teacher proud, the hard work was rewarded when Scarlett made the breakthrough goal for the team and helped them in securing their first victory. Winning one game, drawing 3 and losing 3, the girls found themselves finishing 7th in the tournament and should be immensely proud of their contribution.

Y 3-4 Welholme Trophy - The Year 3-4's finished the final qualification slot of competing in the ESFA Cup, the side containing a majority of Year 3's, gaining valuable experience to match up against Year 4's. The team put together contained some familiar faces including captain Ollie who also competed in this previous trophy with some new welcomed players whose performances shined through on the day. Colson was electric up front with plenty of pace and an eye for goal, finishing top goal scorer for the team, service provider Harry found his range of passing and set-up plenty of attacks. The team fought hard in each game they played coming away from the tournament with an impressive record of W-2 D-2 L-3.

Year 3/4 Athletics Final

Our competitive and well spirited children competed in the eagerly anticipated Year 3/4 Athletics Final. The previous group success in the qualification from the heats didn't go unnoticed and some familiar faces set off for the challenge again, with some new faces welcomed to the team through their hard work in P.E. Children thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon challenging other schools at field and track events! Once the event ended, we received the scores and position of our finishing position and with supreme proudness of not only our performance but behaviour representing the school we finished 2nd Place with the Silver medals.
