Daily Routines
Please ensure that your child brings the following to school daily:
It is very important that your child remembers to bring their yellow book to school everyday. This is used to communicate messages between school and home. Please ensure if there are any changes in your child's home time arrangements you write this in. Spelling test scores will also be added to the book weekly.
PE Days
PE is on a Tuesday each week. Please ensure your child comes to school on this day dressed in PE kit and that it is in line with the school uniform policy. Please bare in mind we will try and do PE outside whenever possible so a jacket or jumper will be needed.
Please remember to remove all jewellery on PE days.
Homework
Each Friday the children will be given their homework. Year One homework will focus on reading, spelling/phonics and maths. The homework is as follows:
Here are some of the fantastic things we have been doing and learning!
Problem Solving - I know who to call in an emergency and what number to call.

being a Historian - the children enjoyed re-enacting Grim Fest after learning the story of Grim the Danish Viking who rescued Prince Havelock from the Vikings. Legend has it Grimsby was named after Grim x
Being Historians learning about The Great Fire of London. Today the children enjoyed a drama workshop to learn more about Samuel Pepys and his diary about the events that took place each day during the great fire x as you can see the children were fully immersed in their learning x
year 1 enjoyed Two’s Day Tuesday this week when they had to complete lots of maths challenges and solve problems all about counting in Two’s. The children started the day by making a crown with a number line in two’s. They then enjoyed activities involving doubles, odd and evens, money, ordering numbers, finding missing numbers, building stacking towers, matching up pairs of socks and lots lots more! What a fabulous day of maths.
